The supple leather and curved wood frame creates softness, while the black tones and sleek lines create a masculine energy. Comfort meets effortless cool style. Please enjoy learning more about this pair and seeing one suggestion for how best to style the chairs!

Originally designed in 1974 by designer Åke Fribytter, the Kroken armchair is a superb example of mid-century Scandinavian design. Featuring a bentwood frame and suspended leather seat, this pair is incredibly comfortable. The classic modern details bring the mid-century aesthetic while the black tones allow the pair to meld seamlessly with any style. No matter how striking the pair is visually, the comfort of the seats is especially important. The warm curve of the seat perfectly cups you, while the angle of the back allows you to lean back and relax. We love the impact they have on a room. They are perfect for a living room or small sitting area in a bedroom.
How to Style the Chairs
As these chairs bring an organic element into a room, there are many ways to shape the space around them. They can blend with almost any style, modern or classic. One of our favorite ways to highlight the lounge chairs is to emphasize the quality of materials by surrounding them with juxtaposing materials of similar high quality.
While we have many items that could pair with the chairs, here is a styling example using furniture and lighting from our Holiday Sale. The black tones of the leather and the mid-century style allows them to work well with this beautiful mid-century buffet. The ebonized trim on the buffet works perfectly, while the French style lightly contrasts with the Scandinavian style of the chairs. Likewise, the black legs of this coffee table mirror the black of the chairs. Yet, the floating style give the table a light and clean quality. Due to the class black color of the chairs they can be paired with almost any color. In this example we prefer accessorizing the space with a bright color to stand out against the black. The emerald color of these Murano glass lamps is modern and appealing. The iridescent finish gives them a contemporary appeal as well.
