Murano Glass Purple and Black Ettore Sotsass Style Lamps

A favorite here in our gallery, we love to showcase these incredible Murano glass black and purple Ettore Sottsass style lamps. The bold purple tones bring vibrancy, while the curves of the hand-blown glass create a softness that lends well to the light. The juxtaposition of the black glass and brass structures create depth and curves. The light filters beautifully over the details of the glass. The unique design, inspired by Ettore Sottsass, is playful while the colors and style are quite sophisticated. This pair is the perfect highlight for your home – curved and clean, soft and sharp, playful and sophisticated. And finally, this beautiful pair provides functional light for your home as well! We love the impact they have on a space, whether in an entry way, dining room, or beside a bed. Originally priced at $6900, while the lamps are currently on sale they are priced at $5175.

“Ferro Battuto” Murano Glass Bottles

Evoking warmth and passion with their deep burgundy color, these bottles are beautiful representations of the Battuto technique. During the 1930s, Murano glassmakers embraced the Battuto technique, breathing new life into their creations. This cold-working finishing treatment involves using a grinding wheel to mark the glass surface with irregular overlapping patterns. The varying depths of the grindings create a textured effect resembling the scales of fish or the craftsmanship of hammered metal. As light dances across the glass, the play of shadows and reflections unveils a captivating visual symphony that adds a touch of sophistication and intrigue to the finished piece. With this set we love the drama of this technique paired with the elegant color and shapes. Originally priced at $7500, while the vases are currently on sale they are priced at $5250.

Murano Glass Purple Avventurina Lamps

Beautifully showcasing the Avventurina technique of glass blowing, these purple lamps are eye-catching! The Avventurina technique dates back to the seventeenth century when it is believed a glassblower accidentally dropped copper fragments into molten glass, leading to the discovery of a captivating effect. By intentionally adding metal oxides, like copper and iron, to the hot glass mixture, these particles crystallize as the glass cools. This resulting in a mesmerizing and shimmering effect, reminiscent of a starry night sky. Avventurina adds depth and enchantment to the glass, transforming each piece into a unique and captivating work of art. These lamps feature 23 carat gold leafing which plays captivatingly with the soft purple hues. Originally priced at $5800, while the lamps are currently on sale they are priced at $4060.

Iridescent Blue Murano Glass Rostrate Vase

Developed by the esteemed glassblower Ercole Barovier in 1938, the Rostrato technique is a testament to the ingenuity and skill of Murano artisans. This complex method involves extruding a series of points from the glass using a wire of glass while it is still hot. The resulting prisms and protrusions create a captivating texture and form, adding depth and visual interest to the glass piece. Rostrato is a testament to the glassblowers’ technical prowess and their ability to breathe life into glass, transforming it into a tactile and visually stimulating work of art. While we have many rostrate vases included in the sale, this is a favorite for its eye-catching bold blue hue and iridescent finish. Originally priced at $3200, while this vase is currently on sale it is priced at $2400.
