5 Design Trends We Love for Fall
As the days slowly start to cool and we look towards approaching holidays, Autumn is in the air! At Jean-Marc Fray we love the change seasons bring, both in nature and in our interior design. As Fall trend reports spread in our favorite design publications, there are a few that stood out to us. As the desire for vintage finds and warm hues grows, so does our excitement. This season, add soul to your space by incorporating these 5 design trends that are sure to have a timeless impact.
Earthy Color Palettes
We have always loved the inviting elements of a warm color palette. This season, many designers are doing away with cool grays and whites and turning instead to deep browns and other organic tones. Many of our striking buffets have a range of browns, especially our Macassar buffets. The quality of the wood allows these case pieces to work in almost any style. While wood is a traditional material for adding earth tones, we love bringing accents of green and amber in through Murano glass and upholstery.
Hand-Painted Finishes
The beautiful detail of hand-painting makes antique pieces really shine and creates a custom effect for any home! From hand-painted faux marble tops to floral details, it is the lovely character brought through the work that makes these items so special. Each is a work of art in its own right. We also love the antique patina that adds history and depth to the painted finishes. The painted finish can work with any season, yet specifically draws on the inviting characteristics of fall. Console tables, chests of drawers, and side tables are just a few of the painted items we have available at our gallery!
Silver Metallics
While we will always love brass and other gold-toned metallics, the move towards silver-hued metals like nickel and chrome is an exciting change! The crisp, modern effect of the silver works beautifully when paired with a modern space or when juxtaposed against a more classic feel. We love the contrast and eye-catching shine of the silver. In lighting, these metals are especially striking due to the lighting reflecting off the metal. While an easy way to bring nickel or chrome into the space is through lighting, we also love silver-hued metal found in furniture such as tables as well.
Art Deco Style
An Art Deco revival is fully underway! Synonymous with glamour and architectural design, Art Deco style brings the elegant dynamism of the early 20th century to any space. Symbolizing a time of great change worldwide, Art Deco, short for Arts Décoratifs, is often associated with bold, geometric design and luxurious, extravagant graphics. We love bringing this style into contemporary homes as it adds history and drama. This striking buffet, stool, and sconces are just a few examples of the incredible Art Deco detail.
Dramatic Marble
This fall, the luxury of marble is being taken to a new level. With a rich history, marble is found in homes around the world. Many factors contribute to the popularity of this striking stone. One key is the expansive options in style and color. The current trend leans into the more flamboyant and eye-catching marble options. From tables fully made of marble to marble detailing on buffets, the more veining and indulgent color hues the better!
