JMF Inspiration: Walton Goggins’ Home in AD
From intricately designed homes to bold architectural choices, at Jean-Marc Fray Antiques we are always searching out inspiration. Instructing how we style and collect pieces, we love finding unexpected ways of using furniture and pairing items. Especially when our sources for inspiration are connected to current events and pop culture!
Walton Goggins’ Home in AD
Actively in the public eye due to his starring appearance in White Lotus, actor Walton Goggins’ home was recently featured in AD. After leaving Los Angeles, Goggins and his wife, Nadia Conners, moved to a home in the Hudson Valley. Their home was originally built in the 1920s in the style of a Scottish hunting lodge. Designed by Shawn Henderson, the house was redesigned to both spotlight the original craftsmanship while finding a new modern balance for the inhabitants. The historical house has a history of famous visitors including Edna St. Vincent Millay, Walt Disney, Babe Ruth, Joan Crawford, and more.
At Jean-Marc Fray, we are especially inspired by the use of antique wood, leather, and bronze finishes. The warmth and organic details bring out the lodge qualities of the space. The modern art and unique details give the space life and one-of-a-kind character. Many of the moments within the home can be replicated to create rooms that invite one to sit down with a good book or cocktail. From crystal fixtures to antique wood tables, you can find many of these pieces at our gallery in Austin. Please enjoy the beautiful Jean-Marc Fray Antiques vintage and antique pieces that perfectly bring the texture, history, and charm of the lodge home into your own.
The Artful Lodge Inspiration
Inspired by the sunroom, we love the combination of vintage, brown leather and antique wood. The comfort of this De Sede sofa draws you in and creates the perfect location for curling up and relaxing. Just as seen throughout Goggins’ home, these antique wood tables are functional and eye-catching. Each completely unique, they bring in charisma and a one-of-a-kind quality.
Taking cue from the newly renovated office, this room is a specifically excellent example of how the use of vintage and antique furniture can completely change a newly crafted space. We especially love the bright colors of the oversized wall art mixed with the vintage tan leather of the seating. Combined, these create a bright and playful space. These Paul Tuttle armchairs also bring the freshness of chrome as well. As art is very specific to each person, we love the cobalt, red, and yellow details to this large painting.
One of our favorite moments in Goggins’ home is the kitchen. The clean lines of the black cabinets works wonderfully with the unexpected history of the large antique butcher block island. Our French antique butcher block has lovely details to the wood and wonderful character behind it. Additionally, we love the unique bronze lighting throughout the home.
Inspired by the dining space and the breakfast nook, we love the look of mixing these French farm tables with modernist vintage lighting. At our gallery we regularly bring in striking farm tables, including this monastery table with a thick wood top. This vintage Lotus lamp is reminiscent of the chandelier in the breakfast nook. This supple leather ottoman also brings out the brown tones of the home and the quality craftsmanship found throughout.
Drawing on details from the bathrooms and bedrooms, we love juxtaposing Stilnovo style sconces with crystal fixtures throughout. These are two styles of lighting that we gravitate towards as well, with a wide array of options for both from sconces to chandeliers.
