Architectural Digest 2026 Design Trends: Material, Color, & Style
As the new year progresses, we look forward to new trends that bring light and quality to our interiors! At Jean-Marc Fray we love the fresh qualities of a new year, especially in design. As new year trend reports spread across our favorite design publications, there are a few that stood out to us – primarily, AD France’s list of 2026 trends. This year, add quality and soul to your space by incorporating these 5 design trends that are sure to have a timeless impact.
La Vie en Rose
While pink is always a staple in the design world, the move towards a soft rose hue is expected to be prominent this year. Able to adapt to any style, this tone brings a femininity and romance to a room. Though pink can be added to a room through upholstery, wall color, and more, our favorite way is with Murano glass. The pink hues of the Murano glass lighting creates a warm, inviting glow. The pairing of color and light draws the eye, even if used in only small accessories throughout. These pink lamps and pink sconces are subtle, but impactful ways of including the rose hue into your home.
The Delicacy of Parchment
Once a highly sought after and accessible material of the Art Deco period, parchment and parchment texture are back! Found on furniture and in building materials, the thin delicacy of parchment adds to the desirability. Simultaneously soft and clean, the white hues of parchment add a crisp element to the space. While at Jean-Marc Fray we do not currently have any available parchment items, we have several pieces that integrate the ivory hues and parchment texture to a room. We especially love the way leather can be crafted to emanate the same subtle design.
Timeless Antiquity
At Jean-Marc Fray, our love of antiques is no secret. We are very happy to see that AD France is anticipating a renewed influence of antiquity, especially including themes of Roman and Grecian architectural elements. We love the use of columns, corinthians, urns, and more. These details draw on the historical aspects and give a piece or space impact. They also give a timeless quality to any design. Whether including aspects of antiquity through accessories such as this corinthian, or through thematic pieces like this urn buffet, we will always be drawn to the stately elegance of this design trend.
Hypermodern
From the clean lines of chrome to the brutalist material of cement, hypermodernity is expected to continue it’s influence on design in 2026. While our mix at the gallery tends to draw on a wider array of styles, we do continue to bring in elements of this masculine interplay of geometric shapes and structures. We are especially drawn to the chrome and geometric design of this stacked coffee table. The glass and metal combination brings in the perfect moment of modernity. The fiber cement jardinieres bring mid-century detail with the materials found in modern design.
Elegant Brass
One of our favorite materials for it’s striking qualities, brass can be found in any style and category of piece here in our gallery. Perfect for it’s warmth without being overly extravagant, brass can transform depending on use. There is no end to brass here in the Jean-Marc Fray gallery, and we are very excited to see an emphasis placed on the use of brass in more environments. For a few examples of wonderful brass pieces, we love the use of brass with a striking accessory like this bar cart or table lamps.
