Unfolding an Opera
This week we are inspired by Pierre Yovanovitch and his unfolding set design for an opera… French director Vincent Huguenot invited the Nice native architect to design the set of Theatre Basel’s production of Rigoletto. He created a a dynamic scenography that captures and highlights the emotional tension of Giuseppe Verdi’s operatic tragedy.
“Contemporary in aesthetic yet timeless in sensibility, Yovanovitch’s moveable design scheme incorporates his signature curved staircase, distinct colours and architectural angles into a bold yet uncomplicated canvas for the psychologically complex storyline to unfold upon.” Eric David with Yatzer
