Art Basel Miami Beach is finally here, in all its glory! This year’s fair is the largest edition yet, showcasing 282 of the world’s top art galleries’ booths inside Miami Beach’s Convention Center. The entire metropolitan area will be experiencing weeklong cultural circus swamps with a sea of pop-up events, satellite fairs, celebrity-studded corporate product launches, and not least, over-the-top parties. Trophallaxis
Simone Leigh’s work highlights the female body — particularly the Black female body. The presentation marks the first time this work is shown since it was acquired for the museum in 2018.
Prizm Contemporary will showcase a variety of works by artists from Angola, Barbados, Kenya, Portugal, and others. The program will feature panels, performances, and films, with special installations from Giana De Dier, Bola Obatuyi, and Senghor Reid.
Red Dot x Spectrum
September Gray – Fine Art Gallery, Ephraim Urevbu, and Scott Jeffries are among artists you can check out at Red Dot x Spectrum Miami during Art Basel 2022.
Didier William: Nou Kite Tout Sa Dèyè
The first major solo museum exhibition for the artist will feature over 40 paintings and a newly commissioned sculpture.
SCOPE on Ocean Drive
The iconic Bootsy Bellows pop-up returns to Miami Beach for an exclusive evening in partnership with VaynerX. During the event, guests will get to see art and hear sounds from Kaytranada and more.
Saatchi Yates x Art Basel 2022
Yates will open a temporary gallery space in Miami, with a solo exhibition featuring new work by Ethiopian contemporary artist Tesfaye Urgessa coexist with his presentation at the Rubell Museum.
The Bass: The Harvesters
The Bass Museum of Art will feature the solo exhibition of Jamilah Sabur. Here, the artist creates a series of interconnected works that focus on climate change.
